SEN. BARACK OBAMA
NET WORTH: $456,000 to $1.1 million
PORTFOLIO: Money-market accounts.

Sen. Barack Obama is barely in the millionaire club, if at all. He reported assets of between $456,000 and $1.1 million for 2006, most of which came from an advance and royalties for The Audacity of Hope, published in 2006, and Dreams From My Father, originally published in 1995. The Illinois Democrat also reported a single gift: A $1,900 Gibson electric guitar from voter-registration group Rock the Vote. Unfortunately, the axe didn't come with lessons: He doesn't play.
